The short answer: this website does not use cookies
Not “only essential cookies.” None.
There is nothing to opt into and nothing to opt out of, which is why you will not see a cookie banner on this site.
We do count visits, using a cookieless tool described below. It records no personal information and cannot identify you or follow you to another website.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small file a website stores on your device so it can recognise you later. They are how sites keep you logged in, remember what is in your cart, and — most of the time — how advertising companies follow you from one site to the next.
What we do not use

That fonts line is worth a sentence. A lot of websites pull their fonts from Google’s servers, which quietly tells Google you visited. Ours are served from our own site, so browsing our pages does not report your visit to anyone.
The one thing stored on your device
Our merch page shows a Terms of Service notice you have to accept before viewing it. When you accept, we store a single entry in your browser’s local storage so you are not asked again every time you visit.

It is not a cookie, it is never transmitted anywhere, and it holds nothing about you — only which version of the terms you agreed to. If we change the terms materially, the version changes and you are asked once more.
You can remove it any time by clearing site data for this site in your browser. The only effect is that the merch page will ask you to accept again.
The one thing that does count visits
We use Vercel Web Analytics, run by the company that hosts this site. It tells us how many people visited, which pages they looked at, and roughly where they came from.
What makes it different from the tools listed above:
- It sets no cookies. Nothing is stored on your device.
- It collects no personal information and does not build a profile of you.
- It cannot follow you to other websites. There is no cross-site identifier.
- It is one small script — about 1 KB — loaded from Vercel.
We use it to know whether the site is working, not to identify anybody. Because it stores nothing on your device and collects nothing personal, there is no consent banner and nothing for you to switch off.
If you would rather not be counted at all, most browsers’ tracking-protection settings and standard content blockers will stop the script from loading. The site works exactly the same either way.
Then how does the site work at all?
Ordinarily. Our pages are mostly text and photographs. The small amount of code that runs — fading photos in as you scroll, playing shop clips when they come into view, dragging the before-and-after slider, checking the quote form for typos — all runs in your browser and remembers nothing after you leave.
One clarification about that slider: the handle is an ordinary form control, and browsers sometimes restore form controls’ positions when you reload a page. That is your browser’s own behaviour, not us storing anything. We have explicitly turned it off on that control so the comparison always starts in the same place.
Server logs
Our web host records basic technical information whenever anyone visits any website — IP address, which page was requested, and when. That is a normal part of running a server and keeping it secure, not tracking. We do not use those logs to profile you or advertise to you.
Hosting provider: Vercel, which also provides the cookieless visit counting described above.
Your browser controls
Since we do not set cookies, there is nothing here to clear. But every major browser lets you block and delete cookies site by site, and you are welcome to lock ours down — the site will work exactly the same, because there is nothing to block.
Most browsers also offer a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. We have nothing to apply them to: we do not track you and we do not sell or share your personal information.
Planned features — not live yet
Our merch page is placeholder content only — no products, no cart, no checkout.
When the merch store launches, this policy will almost certainly change. A shopping cart needs to remember what you put in it, and a payment processor will set its own cookies for fraud prevention. At that point:
- This page must be rewritten to list each cookie, what it does, and how long it lasts
- The cookies will need to be sorted into strictly necessary versus everything else
- A consent mechanism may become necessary, depending on what gets added
The same is true if we ever add analytics, an advertising pixel, an embedded Instagram feed, an embedded map, or a chat widget. We would update this page and say so plainly rather than adding trackers quietly.
